LG washer OE error code
likely causes and what to check
What it means
OE means the control called for a drain and never saw the water level fall. The washer stops with the tub still full and waits.
It is the drain twin of the LE code — LE is the motor, OE is the water leaving. The most common causes live in the filter pocket and the drain hose, and both are checked without tools.
Likely causes, ranked
- Drain filter cloggedlint, coins and small garments pack the filter pocket at the front left — the most common cause by far
- Drain hose kinked or too deep in the standpipea pinched hose or a siphoning hose slows the drain past the control's patience
- Drain pump failinga worn or jammed impeller hums, or spins, and still moves too little water
- Frozen drain linea washer on an outside wall in a cold snap can have an ice-blocked hose — suspect it only in freezing weather
- Pressure sensor or its air hoseif the tub visibly empties and the code still shows, the control never heard about it

Verdict, in general terms
An OE is usually a $0 filter fix or a $30–$60 pump on a machine worth keeping. Even with the pump and a call at the far end, the repair beats any replacement.
